This time, you will have to listen and read about an earthquake that took place in England a few weeks ago. You can read the text by clicking on the link below
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/newsenglish/britain/080317_earthquake.shtml
After listening and reading the text, with the help of the glossary you'll find at the bottom ot the text, you have to make the following task:
Find information about a major natural disaster (an earthquake, a tsuami, a hurricane, ...) on the web and write an article telling us about it. Imagine you are a journalist and have to tell the rest of the world what has happened, the consequences, how people feel, the necessities ... anything you think it is important for the rest of the world to know. Your article must contain around 200 words.
In the same link, you can also download activities about the text (mainly vocabulary activities). Try to do these activities in an honest way (without looking at the answers). Once you have done the activities, you can check them by having a look at the answers. Be honest, my friend
If you have any questions about the task, you can e-mail us or ask directly in the school.
